A Systematic Approach to Improving Drug Safety and Effective Use

Over 50 doctors, pharmacists and nurses attended the half-day "Pre-Conference Meeting of 2012 Joint Conference of Drug Safety Research Centres" on 20 November 2012 at the Lecture Hall of the Hong Kong Eye Hospital.  The Pre-Conference Meeting was jointly organised by the Drug Safety Research Centres from Faculty of Medicine of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the University of Créteil Paris XII, the University of Helsinki, the Department of Health and the Hospital Authority.  Prof. Thomas Y.K. Chan (right 5), Director of Centre for Food and Drug Safety, Faculty of Medicine and Dr. Cindy Lai, JP (right 4), the Deputy Director of Health delivered the welcome remarks and opening address.  Prof. Kalle Hoppu (right 3), Associate Professor of Department of Clinical Pharmacology, the University of Helsinki and Prof. Hervé Le Louet (right 6), Head of Department of Pharmacovigilance, the University of Créteil Paris XII, France were the keynote speakers.  This Meeting offered an excellent platform for exchange of knowledge and discussion on the systematic approach to improving drug safety and effective use.
