CUHK-MIT Joint Workshop on E-Learning and Big Data

Organised by CUHK’s Stanley Ho Big Data Decision Analytics Research Centre and Dr. Stanley Ho Medical Development Foundation, the CUHK-MIT Joint Workshop on E-learning and Big Data was held on 25 March 2015. Over 150 academics, researchers, administrative officers and students attended the event.

The Workshop explored and examined issues related to E-learning and Big Data through public lectures by distinguished speakers from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), including Prof. Victor Zue, Delta Electronics Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Talks were also made by CUHK faculty members including Prof. Alvin Leung, Dean of Education; Prof. Chi-yue Chiu, Dean of Social Science; Prof. Irwin King, Associate Dean (Education), Faculty of Engineering; and Prof. Helen Meng, Director of Stanley Ho Big Data Decision Analytics Research Centre. The public lectures addressed pedagogical issues, technological platform issues and policy implications related to E-learning, as well as explored possible research in E-learning data analytics and related research issues in Big Data.
