Prizes, honors and travel awards received by team members



	Yu Huang received 2024 Pater Harris Distinguished Scientist Award from the International Society for Heart Research in April 2024. He is the first Chinese to have received this honor, which is the most prestigious award of the ISHR.		Yu Huang was honoured to deliver the Paul M. Vanhoutte Memorial Lecture at the 9th Scientific Meeting of the Asian Society for Vascular Biology (ASVB), held in Nanjing, China, on 30 November 2024. This lectureship was established to commemorate the late Professor Paul Vanhoutte (1940–2019), the founding President of the ASVB and a pioneering figure in the fields of vascular biology and pharmacology.
	Yu HUANG was elected as a Fellow of British Pharmacological Society in October 2023		Yu Huang was elected as a Fellow of International Union of Physiological Sciences Academy in May 2023.
	Yu Huang received the Outstanding Contribution Award from Chinese Society for Vascular Medicine, Chinese Association of Pathophysiology in July 2021		Yu Huang was invited to deliver a Keynote Lecture at 19th World Congress of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology in Glasgow, Scotland on 5th July 2023.
	Yu HUANG received 2020-2021 Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC) Senior Research Fellow Award (2020 - 2021年度香港研究資助局高級研究學者獎) (24 November 2020)		Yu HUANG received the Scholar Award in the 14th annual WuXi PharmaTech Life Science and Chemistry Awards (2020年度藥明康德生命化學研究獎學者獎) (19 December 2020).


	Yu Huang together with Drs. Heping Chen, Rui-ping Xiao, Huangtian Yang, Bin Zhou and Yi Zhu are the first group of Chinese scientists who were elected as a Fellow of The International Society for Heart Research (ISHR) on 11 September 2018. All newly-elected Fellows were inducted at the XXIII ISHR World Congress in Beijing, 3-6 June 2019.		Yu HUANG, Dr. Li WANG and Dr. Jiang-Yun LUO received a first-class award in natural sciences of Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Output Award (Science and Technology) 2019 from the Ministry of Education (2019 年度高等學校科學研究优秀成果獎 - 自然科學一等獎) (October 2020).

Professor Paul M Vanhoutte, the founding President of the ASVB presented the certificate to Yu Huang
	Huang Yu was awarded the 2014 State Natural Science Awards (second-class award) in recognition of his collaborative research on the critical role of transient receptor potential against metabolic vascular dysfunction, which has been conducted with Professors Zhu Zhiming, Liu Daoyan and Yan Zhencheng from the Third Military Medical University, China. The award presentation ceremony was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on 9 January 2015.		Tian Xiaoyu and other team members received Paul Dudley White International Science Team Award from the American Heart Association (AHA) at the AHA Scientific Meeting in Anaheim, California, USA on 12 November 2017. Ms HUO Mingyu is the first author of the conference abstract under supervision of Tian Xiaoyu and Huang Yu. Other award winning authors include Lau Chi-Wai, Zhang Hongsong.
	Yu Huang received Croucher Senior Research fellowship Award 2014-2015. Mrs. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Chief Secretary for Administration of the HKSAR Government presents the award of Senior Research Fellowships to Yu Huang on 3 April 2014		Yu Huang presented the 7th Robert F. Furchgott Lecture at 11th International Symposium on Mechanisms of Vasodilatation in Zurich, Switzerland on 5 October 2013
	Jack Wing Tak Wong, received the New Investigator Award on 4 November 2012, from the Council on Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Metabolism, American Heart Association (AHA) for his novel work on “melamine impairs renal and vascular function in rats” which was funded by Hong Kong Food and health Bureau. After spending over two years as the AHA postdoctoral research fellow at Stanford University Medical School, Jack is currently the scientist at the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences, The Methodist Hospital Research Institute, Houston, Texas and the Assistant Professor of Vascular and Stem Cell Biology, Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University, USA		Jack Wing Tak Wong received the ATVB Early Career Investigator Award on 15 November 2011 from American Heart Association Council on Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology
	Wai San Cheang received the first prize for the Young Investigator Awards Competition at the 5th Scientific Meeting of the Asian Society for Vascular Biology at Xi’an, China on 28 October 2012		Xiaoyu Tian received the Postgraduate Research Output Award 2011 from Chinese University of Hong Kong
