Previous Group Members 1997-2001

Pui-Shan Fung

An undergraduate of CUHK, Pui-Shan joined the group as an MPhil student in Jul 1997. Her research work was focused on the synthesis and electrochemical properties of fluorinated dendrimers. She was last known working in Hong Kong.

Chung-Yin Lam

Chung-Yin joined us as an MPhil student in Aug 1998 after completing his BSc in CUHK. He worked in the synthesis and electrochemical properties of metallodendrimers.

Dr. Tony Kwok-Kwong Mong

Tony took an unconventional route to become a PhD student in Jan 2007. He finished his part time BSc degree at CUHK while working daytime in a hospital. He was the first person in our group who initiated the study of amino acid based dendrons and dendrimers. After postdoctoral study at the Scripps Research Institute and industrical works at several biotech companies in California, he moved to Taiwan and is now a professor at the National Chiao Tung University.

Chi-Wing Leung

Chi-Wing joined the group as an MPhil student in Jul 1997. He completed his BSc study at CUHK and worked on the development of novel synthetic methodologies towards the synthesis of dendritic species. He is last known working in an instrument supply company in Hong Kong.

Dr. Zhao-Yang Wang

Zhao-Yang joined us as a postdoctoral worker in Apr 1997 after obtaining his PhD from Chengdu Institute of Organic Chemistry. His research work is related to the development of synthetic methodology of polyether dendrimers. He is now a professor at the College of Medicine, Southwest Jiaotong University in Chengdu, PR China.

Dr. Kam-Hung Low

Kam-Hung joined the group as an MPhil student in Aug 2000 after completing his BSc at CUHK. He is one of the few undergraduate students who have a publication generated from his summer research work. His MPhil work was related to the synthesis of PLED. He obtained his PhD degree from HKU and is now working in Shenzhen.

Dr. Jie Zhang

Jie did his undergraduate study at Wuhan University. He joined us in Mar 1999. His PhD work is focused on the area of peptide dendrons and their self assembly properties. He is now working in USA.

Dr. Ken Cham-Fai Leung

Ken obtained his BSc degree from CUHK, he then joined the group as a PhD student in Aug 1999. His research work was focused on the synthesis of poly(dendrimer)s using metal-ligation methods. He went to do a postdoctoral study at UCLA before coming back to become a research assistant professor at CUHK. In Sep 2011, he moved to Baptist University. His research interest is in the area of novel nanomaterials and their industrial applications.

Dr. Guo-Xin Wang

Guo-Xin obtained his BSc from Lanzhou University and joined our group in Mar 1999. He worked on the preparation of novel organogelating materials. After postdoctoral work at HKU, he moved to Shenzhen and is currently working in the Shenzhen area.
