Focus groups, as a research method, aims at the investigation of different opinions on legislating against discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation, gender identity and intersex status. There will be 10 Focus groups for the public and 10 Focus groups for LGBTI people. Each group consists of 8 people and lasts for around 1.5 hours. Under the guidance of a facilitator, focus groups will bring together small groups of individuals to discuss specified topics.
Focus Group for the Public
We will recruit members of the public from different employment statuses, age groups, and religions to share their opinions and concerns on legislating against discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation, sexual identity and intersex status. The focus group participants will be stratified by different socio-economic factors to solicit diverse viewpoints.
Public focus groups are open to the public for application and will be matched against the quota required of the stratified groupings. Appropriately matched applicants will be informed by phone. Interested individuals may apply at the public forums or through online registration at the website below. All identifiable personal information will be kept confidential and will be destroyed after completion of the study.
