Curriculum
Structure |
This
Programme will run on a credit unit-based system with 3 credit
units for each course. The number of contact hours of
each credit unit is 15. Students are required to fulfill a total
of 66 credit units, which can be completed in two years of full-time
study or approximately 3.5 years of part-time study.

Mode
of Delivery |
The Programme will be delivered mainly by face-to-face
instruction, supplemented with on-line support as deemed appropriate.

Medium of Instruction |
Teaching activities will be conducted in English
and / or Chinese as deemed appropriate. Learning materials will
be in both English and Chinese as deemed appropriate.

Assessment Methods and
Award of
Associate Degree |
Students' performance is monitored and assessed
on a continuous basis through a variety of assessment methods such
as projects, classroom participation, assignments,
quizzes and final examination.
To qualify for the award of the Associate Degree in Theology, a student must:
(a) have an attendance rate of at least 80% for each Course; and
(b) pass the assessments of all Courses prescribed. |
Exemption of Courses |
Students with recognised qualifications at comparable
level may be exempted from some courses required for graduation.
However,
they may not normally be exempted
for more than 45% of the total credit units of the Programme; and those who wishes
to be considered for admission with exemption shall apply in writing before the
commencement of the course(s). The final decision with regard to exemption rests
with
scs. |
Articulation with Tertiary Institutions |
SCS, CUHK is pursuing on making articulation arrangements
with both local and overseas institutions for graduates of this
Programme to apply for admission to their Bachelor degree programmes
in the related disciplines e.g. Oxford Brookes University, South
East Asia Graduate School of Theology including the Bachelor Degree
Programme of Divinity offered at the Theology Division, Chung Chi
College, CUHK. |
Teaching
Staff / Student Support |
Most of the teaching
staff will be drawn from the Theology Division, Chung Chi College
CUHK. They are degree holders at doctoral level
or specialists in the respective areas, and have ample teaching
experience in tertiary institutions, Other teaching staff will
include professionals from the related fields, with at least
a higher degree or equivalent, and a minimum of two years' teaching
experience in the relevant disciplines or equivalent professional
experience,
Counselling services by professional counsellors will be provided
to students to give them learning assistance and help them design
their educational and career pathways.

Class Meetings |
Part-time Programme: Classes will be held in the
evenings on weekdays and Saturdays/Sundays if necessary.
Full-time Programme: Classes will be held in the mornings and afternoons on weekdays
and Saturdays, if necessary. |
