Get ready for a sizzling summer

With the summer holidays just around the corner, students from CUHK and other parts of the world are all making plans to ensure their summer will be enjoyable and meaningful. A number of events and programmes are being organised by CUHK to curate the best summer experience for both CUHK and visiting students.

Summer Abroad Fair

The Office of Academic Links (OAL) organised the first university-wide Summer Abroad Fair in January 2017 for CUHK students to learn more about summer opportunities around the globe. At the fair, representatives from 13 partner institutions enthusiastically introduced their summer programmes to students and offered them first-hand advice.

International Summer School

In the past 14 years, CUHK’s acclaimed International Summer School (ISS) has created countless fond memories for those who had joined the programme. Participants will spend the summer with local and international students at the University’s beautiful campus and around Hong Kong to challenge their minds and engage in cultural exchange.

Explore and delve into a wide variety of academic disciplines taught by top professors from CUHK and prestigious overseas universities at the July Session (25 June to 2 August); learn Chinese, the language used by 1/5 of the world’s population, during the August Session (4 to 26 August).

Outside the classrooms, complete the perfect summer experience at CUHK with the many activities available at ISS. A fun and engaging orientation camp that brings everyone closer together. Excursions around Hong Kong to discover the city’s unique east-meets-west character. Cooking classes, temple visits, local market tours and many other cultural activities to spend a fun evening or weekend with new friends. A new surprise is in store every week.

Applications for ISS 2017 are already underway and will close on the following dates:

• July Session:
• Exchange and non-local fee-paying students: 30 April
• Local fee-paying students: 31 May
• CUHK students: 20 June

• August Session:
•  31 May
