Subsidies for participation in outgoing exchange and non-local learning programmes
The Education Bureau has allocated a total of HK$14 million as financial assistance to undergraduate students to participate in outgoing exchange and short-term non-local learning programmes. For the period from July 2016 to August 2017, half of the subsidy is designated for any destination outside Hong Kong, and the other half is for destinations in the ‘Belt and Road’ regions.

Local undergraduates who are in receipt of means-tested financial assistance from the Student Financial Office of the Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency (or whose family is in receipt of the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance from the Social Welfare Department) undertaking eligible programmes are qualified to apply for the subsidies.
Faculties, departments and colleges are invited to offer programmes that meet the requirements of SSE and SSEBR and encourage their students to participate in the programmes. They are invited to provide a list of eligible programmes to the Office of Academic Links (OAL), and students in eligible programmes will be contacted to apply for the subsidy schemes.
