Annual Team Member Party at Conrad Hong Kong in 2016
Cross exposure at Hilton Sydney in 2015
With great luck, I completed two internships at Conrad Hong Kong and was nominated to work as part time
waitress at Hilton Sydney for cross exposure during my academic exchange in Sydney last year. My goals and
career aspirations was completely different from what I expected after all these experiences because I found
myself totally in love with the hotel industry and also what I
´
ve been doing (who wouldn
´
t love to travel around
the world and use staff rate at USD35 to stay at Hilton hotels)!
In just three months
´
time, I shall be officially graduated from CUHK. Two months ago, I was offered the
position as the Learning & Development Assistant at the Human Resources Department at Conrad Hong
Kong. I feel that the best decision I
´
ve made in CUHK was to join the CUMP.
In full honesty, this mentorship programme really went beyond my expectations and offered me so much that
I could hardly describe by words. During the mentoring period, I
´
ve learnt not only the basic operations within
a hotel, but also the skills in dealing with the challenges of life and techniques of being a leader. Certainly, the
great part of the programme was that it might also provide precious job opportunities for students to work as
trainees. I had the access to learn about the
“
heart of the house
”
at Human Resources and the
“
front of the
house
”
by serving guests in the restaurant. I
´
m constantly equipping myself as a detailed-mind and mature
person in order to become a
“
Better Me
”
.
The CUMP has given me so much that I can
´
t describe the joy and benefits barely in words. I
´
m so proud
of being one of the mentees in CUMP and I think we all deserve an additional chance for ourselves joining
the programme. The CUMP is really life-changing and hopefully I shall see more CUHK mentees joining the
Conrad Hong Kong family.
