When I saw my friends holding a big birthday cake in front of me, I couldn't believe my eyes. At that time, I had only been in Canada for a month, but I had already made a lot of new friends. I said to myself when my new friends gave a surprise birthday celebration, "These are friendships which I DO want to keep forever!"

I really have to be thankful for the Science Student Exchange Programme. Over my one-semester abroad, I got the chance to make friends with people from all over the world. I also took the opportunity to explore places like Toronto, Vancouver, Quebec, and New York. I learned a bit about the education system in Canada. What's more, as a university student, I experienced the different teaching styles at Queen's University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. I do believe that I will become more proactive, considerate, and creative from now on, thanks to my experience as an exchange student.
