Exchange Year (2004-2005)
University of California, San Diego
Studying abroad is not just about experiencing foreign cultures. Especially for science students, they can gain a lot from doing research with professors or in a cutting-edge research group. I have been working with my professor for some months, and this was not planned until I found out that there is a Centre for Astrophysics and Space Sciences at my host university.
Though, no one could guarantee a research position during the exchange period, the ability to seize the opportunity when it arises is definitely a must for all. Doing so is just as important as taking the invaluable opportunity to study abroad during your undergraduate studies. I have paid so much time, money and effort in this kind of "investment", and after all, it is worth it.
