Campu s YMCA o f CUHK i s a
student organisation under the
Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong,
recruiting students with passion
to serve society together. Our
committee is named ‘Enlighten’,
w h i c h r e f l e c t s o u r h o p e t o
bring light to the darkness by
offering help to underprivileged
communities in society, as well
as our passion and sincerity as
volunteers. Our service area is
relatively broad, with target s
i n c l ud i ng c h il d ren f rom l ow -
income f amilies, South A sian
children and senior citizens. In the
coming year, we will organise a
service programme for the elderly;
through five visiting activities,
v o l u n t e e r s a n d t h e s e r v i c e
recipients will be able to spend
time together and get to know
each other, bringing love and care
to the elderly. At the same time,
volunteers will also transform their
elderly friends’ unique life stories
into written records in the form of
autobiographies.

Dandelion Project
The Dandelion Project was formed by a group of students
from different local universities in 2013. Through voluntary
teaching and visits to families and schools, the Project not
only broadens the horizons of village students, but also
allows Hong Kong university students to understand China’s
rural village culture. In the past, we have been to Guizhou,
Guangxi, Yunnan and Gansu to teach voluntarily.

Artbility
Led by students from the Department of Fine Arts, Artibility is devoted
to bringing art into society. Aside from exhibitions, this year, we have
organised an art programme entitled ‘I live it all’, which targets the
elderly and explores possibilities of bringing art into the lives of the
elderly. At the same time, we have brought art into public spaces as a
way to connect different members of a community, breaking down the
walls between people.
Upcoming programmes:
We will continue the ‘I live it all’, while organising art events related to
ethnic minority groups and Indonesian domestic helpers.

Asian Medical Students’ Association Hong Kong
The Asian Medical Students’ Association Hong Kong (AMSAHK)
is a student association formed by medical students from The
Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong
Kong, and is a member of the International Federation of Medical
Students Associations and the Asian Medical Students’ Association
International. We have always focused on facilitating communication
between the two medical schools, as well as raising public awareness
of personal health and public hygiene issues.
Upcoming programmes:
• ‘Breaking the Silence’ – a service project aimed to raise awareness
among medical students of the difficulties faced by the deaf
community in terms of healthcare
• ‘MedStart’ – a medical school experience programme that allows
secondary school students are keen to apply for medical school
• Health check-up for citizens and public health exhibitions

CU Champion
Founded in 2013, CU Champion is an interdisciplinary outreach
service team. Over the past two years, the team has conducted
outreach service to promote drug safety and healthy lifestyle both
on campus and in the community. The team now consists CUHK
students and alumni from domains such as medicine, pharmacy,
nursing, gerontology, Chinese medicine and social work. Thus far,
the team has already served 1,000 CUHK students and staff, as well
as 4,700 Hong Kong citizens.

Chinese Medicine Promotion Society
The Chinese Medicine Promotion Society is committed to promoting
authentic Chinese medicine knowledge while eliminating common
misunderstandings of Chinese medicine through a range of
activities. We organise each event for our members and the public
with sincerity in order to promote the profound culture of Chinese
medicine and allow more people to be exposed to authentic Chinese
medicine knowledge.

The Society of Psychology Promotion
By organising exhibitions and workshops on campus, The Society
of Psychology Promotion aims to increase students’ interest and
understanding of psychology. Every year, the Society co-organises
the ‘Intervarsity Psychology Festival’ together with the Psychology
Society of The Hong Kong University Students’ Union, Psyfest
Organizing Committee of City University of Hong Kong, and the
Hong Kong Baptist University Psychology Society. To promote
psychology and eliminate misunderstandings of psychology, the
Festival offers a variety of interesting and interactive events, such
as talks in secondary schools, workshops, escape games and a day
camp. The Society has also collaborated with the New Life Psychiatric
Rehabilitation Association for two consecutive years to organise
communion events that enabled students to understand more about
people who have recovered from mental illnesses.

Motivic
Established at CUHK in 2012, Motivic offers the visually impaired a
variety of musical activities by marrying music and social service. The
activities include a series of world music workshops, which introduce
participants to the musical cultures and local cultural features of
different places in the world through multi-sensory experiences.
Motivic has also organised two ‘Audio Film Festivals’, as well as
different training activities for CUHK students.

AIESEC
AIESEC is the largest international student association in
the world. With a history of over 48 years, it hopes to help
youths to develop their leadership potential and leave
a positive impact on society by providing them with a
variety of opportunities and challenges. Each opportunity
and challenge offers them the chance to achieve personal
growth and develop their leadership skills, which help them
to become more competitive and create more positive
impacts on society.

Connecting Myanmar
Connecting Myanmar is a cross-university non-profit
organisation. Through annual summer service tour and
cultural and fund-raising events organised in Hong Kong,
it aims to support the Burmese community and nurture
students’ sense of ‘world citizen’. Projects on the Thai-
Burma Border and in Myanmar include campus repairing,
workshops on journalism, law and human rights, English
education and art projects.

Fujia
Fujia is a Hong Kong registered, non-
profit public organisation that focuses
on left-behind and migrant children in
Mainland China. Currently, there are
22 executive committee members from
CUHK and HKU. Fu means support and
aid; while jia means newborn reed, a
metaphor for our service targets – left-
behind and migrant children. We have
currently begun three public projects,
including the Wuhan SEED Project,
which targets left-behind children; the
Fujia Jiao Project; and the Shenzhen
Project, which targets migrant children.
