Students will participate in local NGOs’
community work as interns, understanding
the civil society as well as the philosophy
behind an NGO and its strategies, which
will invoke reflections and actions toward
society issues in Hong Kong, community
service and personal growth.
Internship period will be from mid-October
to end-January, with no less than eight
hours per week. Details of the internship will
be deternmined by the organisation and the
intern.

Programme
The I-Care Internship Programme aims to lead its participants
deep into a community, offer them first-hand experience in
community organizations. This heartfelt journey will start from
within, and bring about growth in life.
The programme provides opportunities for undergraduates
to take part in internships in NGOs across Hong Kong,
Mainland and Taiwan. It engages participants in community
life, and facilitates learning of civil society values and
working skills, and also of how services that are based on
respect and human needs, can effectively respond to social
problems in communities.
Overseas Internships
With an emphasis on direct engagement with the
community and in-depth interaction with ‘ordinary’
people, the overseas internships give an insight into
individuals’ life stories and inner journeys during
the process of society development. Participants will
also learn about how NGOs respond to the different
issues brought upon by society development in an
innovative yet practical way. When students return to
the place they grew up, the experience will continue
to encourage them to care about and attempt to
change what happen around them.
Overseas internships take place each year between
the months of June and August, spanning eight
weeks in total. The Internship Programme for
overseas internships will be open for application
