Student Union, aiming to offer students
opportunities to serve society. We
hope to encourage students to care for
society and serve the underprivileged
communi t i e s, a s we ll a s nu r t u re

and sense of civic responsibility. To
facilitate cross-generation and cross-
class integration, the Voluntary Service
Team regularly collaborates with the
Sage Madam Ho Sin Hang Home for
the Elderly and other charities or non-
profit organisations and arranges
activities such as visits to the Home
for the Elderly, the children village and
granges. In the coming year, the SHHO
Voluntary Service Team will organise
a range of ac tivities, including a
voluntary tutoring and paired reading
programme, visits to the homeless, a
charity bazaar of desserts, and a day
trip around CUHK that lets the elderly
folks have a taste of being university
students. We hope that participants
can have a better understanding of the
underprivileged through a diversity
of voluntary experiences, and that
integration of society can be achieved
as social labeling are eliminated
through personal contact.

tour is a mutual learning process, in which
everyone experiences growth. We hope our
service tours are like the sun – no matter how
heavy the rain is, the sun hiding temporarily
behind the clouds will still bring hope.
